And you have to love Tim Curry's awesomely bad attempt at a New Orleans accent. I recommend the Ace Attorney games on the DS. They are mostly court dramas but there is a fair bit of crime scene investigation and witness interrogation. DarthOrange said:. I found Alan Wake's storyline a bit silly. It never really stayed true within the realms of reality. I get the fact that as you play, the book is revealed to you but there's just so much randomness.

Because of this, anything that could happen - did happen so I wasn't surprised or shocked at the game's big moments. Games like LA Noire and Heavy Rain stay closer to reality and don't have a crazy storyline, and as a result any twists that happen are utterly unexpected. Furthermore, Alan Wake's combat just really dragged me down. I find that games with a minimal and a few meaningful combat encounters make for much better gameplay than the repetition of shooting shadows again and again.

I would have liked it more if Alan Wake stayed true to his character and was a stressed out writer rather than an amazing monster killer. Either way, I still enjoyed the game for its deep atmosphere and great characters. These games are violent and combat intensive but everything stays true to its universe and the plot twists are amazing.

Its old but gold, get it at GoG. You can still find it on internet uknowwhere :]. Specially the characters are one of the best in any game! A great mystery game just came out for the iPad if you've got one. Called The Room. Snatcher and Policenauts: You may have to use some extralegal means to get these titles, but it's well worth it. I'm just going to be a a sheep and reiterate. I also enjoyed Broken Sword 3 a whole lot, even though it is a lot different. I never played th fourth, but from what I've heard maybe give it a miss, or if you enjoy the first two, and maybe the third, then check it out I guess?

If you do, please tell me what you think. With that in mind Broken Sword 5 has just been kickstarted and it looks to be awesome. Fahrenheit is also amazing. I don't think I would label this under survival-horror. There isn't a lot of horror, and survival doesn't really come into play because you aren't typically "defending" yourself.

I'm looking for games with a similar style, mostly because it was a blast to play with the girlfriend. She isn't much of a gamer, and Silent Hill didn't interest her as much watching me shoot my way through the game. This game she was in to, mostly because of the story and of the interaction. It starts with 's' and ends with 'litting their throats. Morrocc 13 years ago 5. You could go really far back and play some of the old-school adventure games other than that, you really don't find games so story-based outside of JRPG's but the studio that made IP is working on a new game in the same vain as this called "The Origami Killer", I think.

Poltersheist 13 years ago 6. You are a crime scene investigator and are trying to link together Jack the Ripper style killings to unsolved cases that your grandfather worked on.

It plays like a 3D graphic adventure game, but it has a cinematic flair to it. It has a point and click interface and difficult puzzles that might take a while to solve without a faq though,so I don't know if that's up your alley. On the bright side,it can found used pretty cheap at most GameStops. If you can't keep your mind open, then keep your mouth shut. Kiryen 13 years ago 8. Shen Mue comes to mind. Aysir 13 years ago 9.
