Remove uninstalled vista updates

Open the "Programs and Features" window. Windows 8 and later - Right-click on the Windows button and select "Programs and Features. Click the "View installed updates" link. This can be found in the left menu. A list of installed updates will be displayed. Find the update you want to remove. The "Installed on" column can help you find the update that started causing your computer troubles. Windows updates are listed in the "Microsoft Windows" section towards the bottom of the list.

Select the update and click "Uninstall. After confirming, the update will be removed. You can repeat this for any other updates you want to get rid of. You'll need to disable automatic updates in Windows Update to prevent installing these specific updates. Method 2. Open the System Restore tool. You can use System Restore to roll your system back to a point before the update was installed. You won't lose any personal files, but any programs installed or uninstalled in the interim will be reverted.

Open the Control Panel and select "Recovery. Select the restore point you want to roll back to. Restore points are created automatically when new programs or updates are installed. Depending on your System Restore settings, you may have many restore points or just a few.

Old restore points are deleted automatically to make room for new ones. You may be able to check a box in the lower-left corner to view all available restore points. Nothing has helped. Regardless of how much ram is installed the updates should work, if not they need to be corrected.

Thursday, August 2, AM. I agree my computer shouldnt come with errors that I am suppose to fix. Is this a great selling gimmik or what. Is this a problem not being addressed by Microsoft. Has anyone been able to get any updates up to this point??? I just sat on the phone for 55 minutes with tech support and all I got was "I dont know what else to tell you, I cant fix it" Well I know a heck of a lot less about computers then the tech guys so if they cant fix it then I sure cant even begin to try and fix it.

Is there really no fix in sight up to this point. Thinking twice about my PC choice and my operating system choice. Does anyone from Microsoft talk on this forum and offer suggestions??

Fed up with these issues from Microsoft. My next laptop will be a Mac. And in the case of Silverlight, you have to hide it about 7 times before it finally disappears. Thanks MS, I can barely wait to seal my fate into your walled-garden agenda…that is being pushed like crack behind a pawn shop! No problems encountered here, at least not any identified corresponding to those mentioned, with latest Patch Tuesday updates for Windows 7 bit, including restart after poweroff.

I am wondering if I should nevertheless remove KB, especially that it is reported by Ficho and confirmed by Martin that it has been pulled.

Thanks for your advice. Does anyone know if Microsoft has published anything concerning this issue? It might be a better idea than to just remove KB and who knows just what could happen to our machines. Do you have UAC enabled? From what I read here and there it seems UAC is the culprit. UAC is a security tool so as when ever you are going to run software to advize you if you want to allow it to run.

UAC has nothing to do with Update Patches of course, but it may have to do with the KB if the latter is valued by the former. KB rules with certificates and UAC as well. So, do you have UAC enabled?

I went through and checked my Windows Updates which are installed on my machine and noticed that KB was not installed when i did my updates. I wonder why??? This is happening every month with Windows Updates. Every month? Second time here after 14 years with Microsoft OSs, and second time as well since a few weeks. Depends on the OS of course but Microsoft Updates are not problematic on the long term.

Seems tough because last mistake was not a long time ago. There was at least two, if not more, major fails released in the between the two events. Another round of update hell! Last month the Windows Update trashed my machine, no recovery possible trying any of the recommended methods. Yes, there is the obvious security aspect to consider. I may even uninstall my anti-virus Microsoft Security Essentials , too. Only 14 years eh? Some of us have been with them since version 1.

I never liked 1. I even dabbled with the Apple II computers for a short while but I preferred the logic of VB rather than the haphazardly thrown together coding of Pascal. I remember loading in Windows from a floppy drive on my no HDD system with two 5. I also get the posting too quickly.. A polling of available updates as of now on Windows 8. Reported problems seem to be for Windows 7 and the update was pulled selectively.

If you have issues regarding failed updates, make sure to uninstall this KB as it also prevents future updates from installing as the signature appears to be corrupt if is installed :. I find it absolutely amazing that anyone would still let Windows Update run automatically.

I quit worrying about installing Windows Updates right when they are released years ago.
