Have you ever had to scribble dimensions down on a sheet of paper and resort to a calculator and high school geometry to figure out the area of a room on a blueprint? Say you have a blueprint for a house, and you want to know the area of the master bedroom. If this was, say, an older home with square rooms, you could do it in your head - 10 feet by 12 feet is square feet. But today's homes can just be plain weird, with sitting areas, breakfast nooks, and all sorts of odd angles and such. To do it by hand would require separating the room into squares, rectangles, and triangles, doing the math for each area, and adding them all together and hoping you didn't mess up somewhere along the line.

Just adjust the settings so that the lines drawn between pins is not visible, and you have an easy way of counting items in an image just by pointing and clicking! Focus your attention on the image on your phone screen while you draw. It can be tricky to hold the phone and page steady with only two hands. Find a way to prop up your phone above the page, on a tripod, a stack of books or a drinking glass.

You can zoom in to enlarge the view of your drawing once you lock the image. Little bits of blue painters tape can help too. Make sure the surface is horizontal or vertical, and fix your paper in place using tape or paperweights. Make sure you have lots of light!

More light makes it easier for your device camera to track and focus on your drawing surface and show you what you are drawing. If the focus is changing when you move your hand around on the drawing surface, you can use the Focus Lock tool to lock the focus. Take your hand away from the drawing, give the camera a moment to focus, then tap the focus lock tool. Remember to adjust the transparency of the tracing image using the slider.
