Certificate Program on Hold We're updating the curriculum and requirements for the graduate certificate program. Description Offered through the Online MPH program, the Graduate Certificate in Public Health Practice introduces students to the core disciplines of public health practice over two quarters. Single-course enrollment is also available.

Applying The Graduate Certificate in Public Health Practice is designed for working professionals and grad students enrolled in other UW degree programs who are seeking graduate-level education in public health practice.

Application Deadline: April 30 Competencies The Graduate Certificate in PHP certificate is designed to enable students to be introduced to core disciplines of public health practice within two quarters of study. The certificate can be completed on-campus or online to allow students maximum flexibility while maintaining personal and professional commitments. Online courses are taught in week modules across the calendar year four modules per year face-to-face courses are taught on campus in week modules.

The certificate must be completed within two years of matriculation. Course work may be completed through residential or distance modalities. Students exit with core public health skills in research, analytic methods, proposal development, management, implementation science, health metrics and evaluation, and a deeper understanding of the social, economic, and political determinants of health.

With the exception of three on-site sessions, classes are conducted online, giving students the flexibility to do their coursework largely on their own schedule and at their own location.
